Bio-soluble fibers are asbestos and ceramic fiber-free. Recognizing the need to eliminate the health risks associated with long term exposure to ceramic or rock fibers for insulation, bio-soluble fibers were designed to be safe for usage with their ability to dissolve in bodily fluids and quickly clear from the lungs.
Made from blown and spun calcium magnesium silicate fibers, bio-soluble fibers are strong, lightweight, and flexible. These fibers exhibit very low thermal conductivity and heat storage, and have excellent thermal shock resistance and sound absorption.
